re: Call doctor or go into hospital? Help!

I'd call. My best friend actually had the same thing happening yesterday. They were 4-5 mins apart when she texted me. Then she stopped responding and sent me a picture 2 hrs later of her little boy. She was fully dilated when she finally went in.

I don't see the harm in calling.. If you can type through these contractions they maybe not strong enough

Just called and was told to head in, now I just have to call my stepdad out of work or wake up my boyfriend with a phone call and call him off work. Thank you everyone for all of the input!

I labored all night with DD, by morning they were consistent and 3 minutes apart. When I got to the hospital they kept me in. Even at 3 minutes apart that morning, I didn't give birth til 9:00 that night

It's rare for first babies to come early or fast. I had a condition called polyhydramnios, and my water broke at home just short of 38 weeks. I went from 4 to 9cm in 20 minutes and pushed for just under an hour. But normal first deliveries tend to run long.
They're going to tell you to come in if you call.
They can't see you over the phone, and it's a liability. If they told you to stay home (without checking you) and something happened, they could be held responsible. They'll never tell you "you're fine, stay home" over the phone.
Hope they keep you though, good luck!

Okay, whoever told me to wait two hours and THEN call, thank you, I did just that. Thank you all for the good luck wishes and easy labor dust! It worked so well. I have a high pain tolerance as it is, I had a very quick labor, I even took a nap, delivered all natural on accident because she came so fast! The nurses referred to my LO as the "slamdunk" baby because she came so fast. Pushed for less than ten minutes and she was here. I was determined. Haha. As for the ladies that say first borns are not usually early or fast, my little girl was three days early and fast as hell! & boyyyy was mama grateful for that. Sorry I took so long to update you all!

YAY CONGRATS!! Mine was the same way! 12 days early, and my doctor barley made it to the room before my first munchkin flew out.
