Eating healthy when SO doesn't?

posted 27th Nov
SO eats junk food.... processed, junk food.

So... naturally, that's all that is bought here. I don't want to make two dinners, nor do I have the money to be doing that. But I'm gaining my weight back and that is NOT okay

I ate a blueberry muffin and drank 3 vitamin water's at work (not the best, but I can't stand plain water). Then of course I came home and ate two pieces of pizza. I want to eat healthy... but I can't because SO won't. I try to eat healthy at work... but with bags of chips, cookies, and candy being the only options... other than the muffins, it's hard.

Any ideas? I've tried sneaking veggies in his meals... but he notices. And won't finish it. And I don't want to JUST eat salad's and chicken. This sucks

Cook your own meals then. And only drink water. Vitamin water is at least 100 calories a bottle no?

120 per bottle, I checked. Lol. I just can't drink bottled water other than Fiji... because it all tastes like copper   And Fiji gets expensive, man

Idk what I'm gonna do. I basically starved myself to lose the 70 lbs. I don't want to go down that route again but it looks like that's my only option...

And about cooking my own meals -- everything in my fridge/cabinets is what SO likes (i mean I like it, too, or else I wouldn't eat it... it's just really bad food). I'd be spending another $100 a week to buy food for me and I can't afford that.

I guess I'm just trying to think of meals that are on the healthy side that SO will eat as well. But I'm drawing blanks since he doesn't eat veggies or fruits.

Have you tried putting in those zero calorie mixes? They aren't bad. Losing weight is so damn hard though. I really liked the myfitnesspal app though, it's so damn easy to use. I stopped during pregnancy

I'm not sure if it's any better for you but maybe try MIO instead of vitamin water. I LOVE vitamin water, MIO is a few steps down from that in the taste department, IMO.

As for snacking at work, would you have time to pack a salad or a "healthy" sandwich? I wouldn't be able to avoid chips and stuff at work either, don't feel bad.

For dinner maybe try making sides that consist of healthy foods. Eat less of the main meal or the processed crap and more of the healthy sides.

Like the crystal light? yeah I liked some of 'em. I'll have to get some and just get a case of water.

I was using that when I was in my starving phase... like 500 calories a day, man   It was nuts.

Stop buying junk food. that's literally the only option for me anyway, lol. He should grow the smurf up anyway, I mean really, he refuses to eat veggies AND fruits? Damn.

YES. Same. It's just so much easier to grab a bag of chips... or have a co-worker pick up some McD's. Ugh.

It's a bigger problem at home, though. Like I can just not eat at work... no problem. But when I get home and I'm hungry, and we have all of this food.... it's hard to say no

I haven't tried Mio yet. But I'll get some! And the salad... probably not. Mainly because I don't get a break, so I can't sit down and eat it. And after a while, the salad gets soggy and nasty. Lol. I could try a sandwich... but I only like bologna/cheese or turkey/cheese

Any ideas for sides? All I really make for sides are corn/peas/green beans (as far as veggies go). I want something different.

Yeah, we have this problem. Generally I'll buy snacks for him and I don't snack so that isn't a problem. For dinners, I don't really cook two meals but more will do two different things. For him I'll make chicken and rice and add some sort of seasoning or gravy and for me I'll stir fry the chicken and rice with some broccoli and carrots. Things like that. It dirties more dishes, but it's worth it.
