Its actually not all based on sexism. People just assume that if someone else can do something and they cant its automatically sexism. In Islam men cAn marry up to four women and women of course only one. Is that sexist? No because of the reasons behind it. (Islamically) the men have to take care of the women, completely. The women do not have to give a cent to them. This is to ensure abuse against her money will not take place. That would not be possible if she had more men who SHE had to take care of. On top of that we all know more men can have sex with more women and spread their seed lol than a woman can (and she can only have a baby every nine months but in reality every couple of years). Also the reason behind polygany is to help support the widows, prevent prostitition (a HUGE problem) and so much more. Also at time when Islam came men had up to thirty wives or more, and there is no way justice could be done to them financially or sexually. So it was made to only have four, IF they could do justice.

Anyway, this all works to the women's advantage but people are too blind and indoctrinated to think OH ITS SEXIST it must be because I HAVE A PERIOD and he doesn't  (((

Oh and women in Islam are also NOT allowed to take their husband's last name because yeah, we don't belong to them.

It's the nature of the lifestyle. Men obviously do not see women as equal in that lifestyle if women are not also allowed to take on multiple husbands, so no you cannot have that type of relationship without sexism.

Islam is widely known for its role in misogyny and oppression of women, as is basically every religion in the world. You are wrong about women not being allowed to take their husband's last name. My aunt is Muslim and her last name is Shehata and you can damn sure bet that's not the name she was given at birth.

So your aunt went AGAINST her religion. There is a difference with being muslim and actually practicing. Or not being ignorant about their own religion. Also, the whole mysgonistic thing? Yeah, your wrong. As a muslim woman, I have not been tricked by the media lol.

Uhm no, it's not against her religion. Many Muslim women in America use their husband's last names because it is tradition in America to do so.
And I think every single religion is misogynistic. You cannot tell me that there is nothing that states that women are not equal to men in your religion because I guarantee there is.

Lol so you yourself say its an AMERICAN thing to do. Not an Islamic thing to do. I could show the proof but you probably wouldn't know what proof is. And men certaintly have rights over their wives, as do we them. I wouldn't deny that.

Men should never have rights over their wives. Nobody should have rights over another person at all. And if Islam is such a peaceful religion why is the Middle East such a smurf hole?

Well thats where we disagree. I certaintly have rights over my husband. I have rights over my children. Etc.
The middle east is a smurf hole?? Lol have you looked at America? You think our government is not corrupt, our society? We are filled with prostitution, sexual disease has been spread in excess, we kill sooo many innocents for no reason more than oil etc, anorexia and being over weight are huge problems. Oh man I could go on.
Oh and the reason the middle east is the way it is is because they want democracy etc. even though in reality we are not a democracy. Our country just likes to pretend we are.

I never said America wasn't either. Lots of our problems stem from smurfs trying to put religion into our laws. Ha prostitution happens everywhere honey, EVERYWHERE. If it were legal and regulated there would be a lower rate of STDs among sex workers, and it would be safer and less of a risk of sex workers getting raped.

Of course its everywhere. However there would be a LOT LESS if polygany were allowed.

How on earth does polygamy stop prostitution?!

I 100% disagree. Look, the idea of feminism is to give women the choice to do as they please. If they WANT to be in a plural marriage, why is that suddenly oppressive? Similarly, a woman who commits willingly to being in a 24/7 Dom/sub relationship isn't being oppressed. She's living her life as she CHOOSES because she is given the choice.

Do I agree with people being forced into these things? Of course not! But I think some people are so caught up on what they feel life should be that they go so far as to start taking womens rights away.

In Islam many woman CHOOSE to stay covered. If they are not forced to do so, then it is their choice and no matter if I'd choose it, I support wholeheartedly their ability to make that choice.

How are you any better? You are so worried about women being oppressed that YOU turn around and "oppress" them by assuming they are unable to make their own choices. By putting them and their CHOSEN lifestyle down. How does that extreme help women any more then an extreme that does not allow them NOT to make a choice? You allow them no choice either by your judgement.

Islam can be used to oppress women just as any other religion.

It's not the religion, it's man's interpretation (abuse) of religion.
