re: Sister Wives/Polygamy

I love polygaNY and would love for my husband to take on another wife. I know a lot of people involved in polygany and am even in a yahoo support group for it. Most people are actually into something called serial monogomy not actual monogamy (have you dated more than one person? There u go!! Been cheated on etc).
With polygany the wives have rights instead being the chick on the side who can be played with and children have no father supporting them.

Oh and i support monogamous relationships, too heh.

This. I dont think they are doing anything wrong. Though I think kody is a freakin pig. But in and of itself... it's not wrong. Your right CONSENTING ADULTS... 12 is not an adult and neither is 17.. but these girls are "married" off starting at age 12! They are taught from the time they are born that in order to go to heaven they MUST be a sister wife. So they are SCARED into believing its the ONLY and RIGHT way to heaven... so WRONG

Kody's daughters arent forced into believing their faith. I dont believe that. One of them has said they don't want to be a sister wife they have questioned if something went wrong with what they did,.... but they aren't FORCING her to believe. The kids are growing up fine, and aren't being forced to commit to a man/woman at a young age. So while some people do force their children at young ages, they arent.

who is Kody? Most of these "kids" cant read or write. My husband works with a few of them from Colorado City who have broken off and arent as strict as Warrens followers. They still have more than one wife, I think I know a little more than most people about their life style. Most people there are forced into doing things they dont like but are worried they will go to hell if they don't. Did you read my First post?

We are talking about the show sisterwives. Everything most people are saying is based off that show, not the broken off groups of the flds (<---hope thats what they are called lol). Your knowledge comes from a very small amount of people who practice polygamy (not that that makes your knowledge less valid).

That’s not just polygamy, that’s religion. Religion, regardless of denomination, uses faith and rules to scare people into doing what that faith deems to be ‘right’.

Yes I read your post. Are you following the damn post at all? We were talking about the show and Kody (the husband) and family being under fire. You are talking about children being forced to marry and these children are free to think what they want, and the wives aren't forced.

Before you go running your trap "Did you read my first post?" Maybe you should read the first post of the damn thread and see what we are talking about. I think ANYONE will agree that being forced and having non-consenting adults marry is NOT okay. But that is NOT polygamy as a whole.

I have been in a Poly relationship (polyamory, not polygamy) for more than two years, I feel their pain, people need to mind their own business. As long as they are consenting adults, who gives a smurf?
