He was looking for a reason for my health problems. Which revolved around having a big baby. He hoped if I was diabetic they could treat my diabetes and keep my son in longer. It was not diabetes, and he tried to come at 31 weeks, and again at 36 weeks so I had to be delivered at 38a weeks (my uterus was nearly ruptured by that point).

Oh I do, I'm very grateful that I don't need insulin. I just can't wait to be done taking these pills and poking my fingers.. ughh -_-

Mostly, I'm sick of this damn diet. I'm sick of having to schedule my life around what time I eat.

1. wake up, take blood. 2. eat breakfast. 3. wait 2 hours, test. 4. eat probably half hour after I test. 5. wait 2 more hours, test. 6. eat dinner, 7. wait 2 hours, test.

There isn't much time in between to eat a snack here or there [and I'm supposed to be eating 2-3 snacks a day.] and I wake up at a wonky time, so unless I want to be up ALL night, I have to stick to my schedule or I'll be up way late waiting to test my blood   Sometimes it's hard and I miss meals, specially on days when I have appointments.

My dietitian suggested eating RIGHT after you test(a snack), and then waiting an hour or so to eat. But it is SUPER hard to stick to a schedule. Mine is:
Wake up, test
Insulin
Wait 30 min
Breakfast
Wait 2 hours, test
Eat lunch
Wait 2 hours, test
Insulin
Dinner
Wait 2 hours,test
Snack
Test
Bed

I only have to test 4 times a day, and only after a meal. It was 1 hour, which was much more manageable because I could test that hour after eating and have a snack sometime in the next hour, then eat a meal, wait an hour, test, snack, so on. But they changed it to 2 hours after every meal so its much harder for me to fit snacks in, I don't want to eat a snack after I eat and end up with a higher number than my meal actually was because more food before testing = higher numbers and I don't want to have to be put on insulin   I'd rather have my snack AFTER I test, but then I have to wait longer to eat my actual meal. It's a bit irritating.

No you don't. And snack on veggies, they don't affect your numbers.

But.. boo veggies   I try hard to keep healthy but I just cannot stand most veggies.. I like corn, that's pretty much it lol. I like carrots, but only when they are baked with a roast

Sadly, if you wanna snack, you gotta eat them :/

I had to fast (but it was overnight so no biggie) but I had to have two glucose tests both were 3 hours, because diabetes runs in the family. What is this one hour test? we never get this option it's straight to three hours :s

The "mini version" of the 3 hour. Blood only gets drawn twice.

Oh, well yeah I assumed it was the same just less hours, just curious as to why I never got that option. Not that I'm complaining, it's all over now anyways haha

Its mandatory, but i'm guessing since you have a history, they wanted to be more accurate.
