Quick afternoon rant

posted 26th Nov
Ok so my SO is on a week of morning shift for work (4:30am - 12:30pm). Usually when he gets home, he eats, then will sit and either play xbox or watch T.V with our 2yro and more then likely pass out until dinner, which he will eat then go back to bed. Frustrates the smurf out of me, but hey, what can ya do?
Anyways, so today he comes home around 1pm, fishes through the cupboards for food, then sits on the lounge and watches the Simpsons with our son. 1:30 comes along and i said i wanted to run to the shop to get some stuff for dinner before i go collect our 7yro daughter from school (she finishes at 3pm). I head out the door leaving the 2 of them watching cartoons, and get back home 3:20.
Well smurf me!!! Wish i never had walked through the bloody door. There is toys from one end of the loungeroom to the other. A full packet of chips spread nicely across the carpet (which i only had cleaned last friday). Empty bisquit packets laying around, and where is my dear SO? Sound asleep on the lounge!!! Omg i was furious!!! THEN when i walk upstairs to make my 100th trip to the toilet, i find that the lil bin i keep in the bathroom has been emptied EVERYWHERE, and about 4 different types of creams and hand soaps have been squirted down the sink.
Im lucky this doesnt happen often, but with the way im feeling right now, hes gunna be lucky if he gets any dinner tonight.

Why would you leave LO with him when you know he works early and likes to sleep when he gets home?

Aww your so sweet. When i walked in the door and saw him sleeping, i purposely slammed the door shut to wake him up. When he heard me telling our son to pick up the chips, he wakes up, rolls over and says "pick up the chips buddy" then rolls back over and goes back to sleep. ARGGHHH!!!

Uhhh... why couldn't her SO stay awake and care for his son? You work? Do you immediately fall asleep as soon as you walk in the door, if you have other responsibilities to tend to?

Why not? They should both share responsibility. He should have stayed up. She wasn't going to be gone for long.

Because im not the sole parent here. It takes 2 to tango and he has just as much responsibility in looking after the kids as i do. I also work 3 days a week, and go to school 2 nights a week. Plus im the one that gets up throughout the night if our daughter has a nightmare, or our son is up and down coz he doesnt want to sleep....not him. And when i get home from work, or college, im still the one that has to pick up all the smurf from the kids, and im still the one that has to make dinner, do laundry, make sure our daughters school work is up to date. Yes he works more than i do, and his job is more demanding, but i get tired too, and i dont have time or get the opportunity to have a sleep during the day

Uhhh if I worked at 4am I would probably end up falling asleep later on in the day too. And if I had an SO that worked that early shift to provide for our family I'd be a little more considerate

" pick up the chips buddy" lmfao I'm sorry! That's something my DH would do! Seriously! Sorry again, but men are inconsiderate sometimes. Gotta love em

Don't justify yourself to her! She's probably bored.

He goes to bed after dinner, that's plenty of sleep. She works too. Obviously you don't, hence your trouble comprehending.
