Breasts producing different amounts of milk?

I sat down and pumped from each breast to have a supply for the night since I just got home from the hospital and have had next to none sleep after two days of labor and 2 1/2 days in the hospital.
ANYWAY.
I planned on having 2 oz out of each breast - I have to feed him every 2 hours to prevent his jaundice from getting worse and I barely managed to get even half as much as I could out of my right breast. I pumped 2 oz and felt like I could have easily got more, but when I pumped m left, I got a bit under 1 1/2 oz and I was just dry. It hurt to keep going.
How do I get my left up to par with my right? My right is considerably larger than my left. Not horribly but it's noticeable.
I need help lol.

Pumping is no indication of milk production. Eating oatmeal and taking fenugreek will help with supply but you still may not pump the same from each breast.

nothing works like a baby. if I were you I would just nurse your baby. He/she nursing and his/her saliva are what tell your body what to do, and how much to make. I know your tired. I have been there. I promise it gets easier

I always got 2-3 ounces more out of my left side. I think it's common for one breast to produce more than the other. Also, when I first started pumping I didn't get much, but it improved a lot over time (I had to supplement with a little formula for a couple days).

Haha, I tred breast feeding, and he seemed to latch okay but not great, the thing is I have DD breasts and it just seems too large for him. I will keep trying, but I wanted to have him eat well for a while so I don't have to take him to the hospital..

lol I have DDD and dd nursed for 11 1/2 months. The first few weeks were the hardest. I had to hold my boob for her and for 2 weeks I had to use a nipple shield.

Lactation consultant suggested putting a rolled up towel under your breast if it is large I am an E so I feel ya. But the baby on the breast is always better my son is 9 1/2 months and i still don't always pump evenly from both sides as long as your making milk and baby is gaining weight don't sweat the amount.
