For those of you who formula feed...

posted 26th Nov
How old is your LO, how much do they eat and how often?
And do you stick to a schedule (ie: 3 hours between feedings) or feed when baby acts hungry?
TIA!

It doesn't matter if your LO is formula fed or not. If they are hungry feed them.
My LO is formula fed(not by choice. I have an apt tomorrow for lactation meds) but he is currently 3 months and he eats anywhere between 60-240ml in a sitting. He eats about every 2-4 hours. Every 6hrs at night.

My DD is 7.5 months (8mos on Dec 3rd) and she eats about 28oz of formula a day... 4 7oz bottles approx every4-5 hours apart..... and in addition she has a fruit and veggie and some cereal.
This is her daily schedule:
7:30am-7oz bottle
back to sleep until about 9am
9:30am-Fruit with some cereal
12pm: 7oz bottle
12:15-2 nap
4pm: 7oz bottle
4:15-5:30 nap
6:30pm: Veggie and cereal
9pm: 7oz bottle
9:15: Bedtime and she sleep through the night
She also has some puffs here and there for snacks, but more to develop her hand eye coordination.

My daughter is almost 6 months (at the end of this month) and she drinks a 4oz bottle every 3 hours. Sometimes she will finish her 4oz bottle and want another ounce so I give it to her. If she's not acting hungry yet when it's "time" for her to eat, I don't force it on her. She usually always acts hungry around the 3 hour mark anyway.

10 months next week.
And she drinks 5 10 oz bottles a day plus she eats 3 meals of table foods a day plus 3 snacks or more some days. lol

And gets 2 cups of whole milk as well a day.

She is pretty much always been on a schedual for everything, her sleep times to her bath to her naps to her eating, but she also feeds on demand if she seems hungry. lol

Yes I know, her meals are 2oz containers of homemade foods like chicken and rice beef stews mixed veggies etc...lol she loves her food. lol a lot.

But tell why she only weighs 16lbs at 10 months, I have no clue. lol

My pedi told me last week I can take away most of her formula down to 24oz a day and let her have more of the whole milk, since she eats a ton of iron enriched foods everyday. lol She loves her whole milk too. lol

She is just tiny tho, 10 months 16lbs and just under 26 inches long, so she is the size of like a 5 month old. lol super cute. lol

My middle was 20lbs at 4 months old and now eats all day long too at 4 yrs old and is 28lbs lol then my 10 yr old never eats and is tall athletic and 110lbs lol

Thanks ladies!
My son is 18 pounds at 4 months old and 27 inches long. Big guy. And my family keeps trying to convince me I'm overfeeding him. But I keep trying to explain... I'm NOT going to deny him if he's hungry.
Stupid family. Lol.
