re: Castor Oil- Wish me luck

posted 27th Nov
i have just read through the whole thread and you say several time this has been medically recommended by your doctor for your constipation but my opinion is this is just a smart (?) back track because i kept going back to your original OP and this is what i read

"I ( as in YOU) just ( as in today right before you posted) decided that since today is my due date and there is no signs of little man arriving ( that doesnt say constipation to me, that say, im being impatient) im doing the castor oil mixed in a milk shake "

if you were truly recommended this by your doctor and doula then you would have just said you were doing it for the constipation and would not have even mentioned it helping your little man arrive, yes i know you said it would be a bonus if that happened as well as shifting the constipation but again i think you were just covering your back when you saw the majority of people not supporting you

!!!!
Also, I was severely constipated with my pregnancy (in the ER it was so bad) and my dr never even mentioned castor oil since there are laxatives that are safe. When they didnt work he gave me some natural options but also told me it would get better when I gave birth. He was right lol

Don't apologize I appreciate it very much! I thought that's how it was especially since I worked in a hospital and the radiologists were called doctor.

Ok I've already said I was very uneducated about this subject. I'm sorry

My dr recomended it but my friends stories scared the hell out of me, the idea of having explosive direah on the table didnt sound to pleasent. I had made the choice to do it on the combinded issues of constiaption and being at my due date, well now past. It was recomended but as my doula had said not until 40 weeks at the earliest, my dr said since he believes im a bit further ahead a week ago would have been fine. Your opinion is yours. I cant change it your entitled to it.

Surprisingly no. Only went to the bathroom about 3 or 4 times.. so not to bad, probably because i didnt take the dose the back of the bottle says.

No dilation contractions arent doing anything though he told me next week he will be doing induction methods, so he told me to do evening primrose oil, nipple stimulation, accupressure, and orgasm. a few other things that i told him heck no too, he also said since the castor oil didnt work but got me to go he wouldnt recommend doing it again he was worried about it causing vomiting a 2nd time around. So fair enough, im glad im not constipated anymore.

My friend did something called the MILES circuit and it got labor going that night.

Did he explain how to do nipple stimulation correctly? Because you can over stimulate and hate life. Have you been walking?

I definitely recommend walking, too. When I got to be like 39 weeks, I started walking circuits around the mall with my ex. (It was super cold out - plus I could stop and get a snack very easily  )

Been walking about a mile a day since i was 37 weeks. ( i lost my lisence and need to get out of the house, i get it back monday though!) And he kinda did, but my doula gave me very very clear directions. it didnt start anything last night, i think im just going to keep trying over and over every night. He did say yesterday that next week we will do a balloon thing if theres no progression but i dont want that.  .
