re: Tall & skinny children

I like the jeans with the adjustable elastic waistband inside, like the Old Navy ones...my son is tall and skinny too, so I always have to put it on the tightest setting.

It gets easier when they're in girl sizes cause more pants Have the adjustable waist. There are also slim sizes in girls sizes too. Maybe try putting her in a size 4 slim and see if those fit her?

DS could give a crap less. I could put a frilly dress on him and he won't care. I got these hand me down size 3T jeans from Old Navy and they were almost as wide as they were long. I was like, what kid's legs are this fat? lol.

My son is the exact same way. He will be 4 soona nd I have to buy 5t pants because he is so tall and 4t's look like floods. I never buy jeans that do not have the adjustable waist band, we always have to pull it to the smallest because he is so skinny - and it makes his butt look all saggy, lol - but it's the only way we can get pants to fit.

As for the dresses looking baggy, could you buy some coordinating ribbon or something that make a tie that goes behind her back and make a bow? I've done that a few times with the girls dresses, it kind of pulls everything back so it doesn't look frumpy.

Belts and adjustable waists don't work with my daughter. She is 5 and wears a 2-3 size with shorts. But with pants length wise is a 5 an waist would have to be a 3. So I buy a 5 and get it altered at an alteration shop. Only way

Dresses have to be pinned at the back on the inside.

And shirts for length have to be a size 5 for length but are baggy.

Only babygap fits properly. They even sell tall infant sizes.

My son is a "string bean" child all of his pants have to be the adjustable waist pants. I usually have no problem finding them at Target or Walmart

That's not a bad idea.

I can sew, but I don't have a machine so it's just here and there stuff by hand. But that could work. Hmm..

Ha, I only sew by hand lol. I can't use a machine to save my liiiiife.
It takes longer, but I feel like the stitching is more secure. I got most of LO's pants done in a day.

In both sections (up here in VA, not sure if all Walmart's are the same), But... he's been wearing adjustable waist pants since he was 12 months old   he's 6 now! & they are about $10-11 bucks so not too steep either!

Haha   I can use a machine, I just don't like them. Probably because I grew up sewing by hand for fun so machines are kinda boring, lol. I may just have to start altering.
