fed ups

posted 26th Nov
Sorry to seem like an attention seeking whore but, I'm so fed up right now, everything is going from bad to worse and its out of my control, I thought my depression was 'getting better' so to speak, but I'm finding myself back at square one.

I went to the doctor back in July and told her I was depressed etc, she didn't offer any anti depressants but told me exercise would help. Well I've done exercise and it was no help whatsoever.

Is anyone on anti depressants? Do they work? Ugh I need to get out of this black hole, feel like the whole world is on my shoulders.

You should try going to a mental health center instead. See a psychiatrist. I know it has that "stigma" about it, but they're the ones that'll prescribe you the antidepressants you need..

I am on Prozac for both depression and fibromyalgia. It helps a lot, and I personally wouldn't have gone on it if I hadn't been in pain from the fibro. Now however, I see what a difference it has made and I'm glad I went on it.

Interesting. I tried cymbalta for depression & fibro. That stuff made me crazy. I never knew about Prozac for fibro. I'm going to ask about it next time

I'm scared of starting the medication and then becoming dependant on it

They work for some people. Sometimes, its about finding the right medication or "cocktail" if you have more than just depression going on. I have no real advice but I hope things get better for you soon <3

it doesn't mean you'll become dependant on them you may only need them for a short period of time

I was really really surprised. My Dr said that I seemed to have depression, and that by treating the depression it could help the fibro a lot. Normally it isn't something used for fibro, but good lord the difference it has made. Seriously, the pain is just abuot gone most days. Like, just a little soreness where as before I couldn't even lift my kids a lot of days. It also has helped my sleep. I was on muscle relaxers at night, and now I only need those a few times a month.

Especially if you try therapy / group therapy along with it.
