If you have a kindle fire...

posted 26th Nov
What do you think?? Stupid idea for a 'kid'? I know it's expensive, but my 4 year old has violent episodes while in public, but if shes got my phone she is usually fine... (Paying some perry the platypus game, or paint, or something in kid zone) . I thought about the innotab that you can get for about $60, but then I though about the cost of the games... And that in a few years she probably wouldn't use a 'baby toy' like that. They make pretty protective cases for the kindle fire as well, and I could load real books onto it when she gets a little older. So if you have a kindle fire, do your kids like to play it? Do aps like 'kids zone' work for it to protect them from buying things? Lilly has a lot of her favorite barbie music in the 'cloud' or whatever because thats the only place I can find the songs she likes, which I also think is cool that she could do music/movies. I dont know much about them though, I've only played around with one for a few hours setting it up for my nana. (I am also considering buying a used one, incase something does happen to it.) I have also considered getting her a USED i pod touch, but I know nothing about any thing made by apple. I had an Ipod nano 6 years ago and it broke other than that I havent even touched an ipod touch or i phone. haha.

I absolutely LOVE my kindle Fire! I do have games that go into "kid mode" for LO so he can't do any damage, haha. She can also access pandora (create "kid friendly" stations) for music, Netflix, etc.

Hmm a kindle fire? I would think maybe just a regular $100 dollar android tablet for a kid. Pretty much the same as a kindle fire, except a better market IMO.

I think it's really hard to find a good protective case for an off brand, at least it has been for me, which is the only reason I was sticking to a name brand. Safer cases to keep it from any serious damage.

That is not at all an off brand. Get a SAMSUNG android tablet.

If they are watching something in netflix can they get out of it, or is there a way to make it kid friendly? I know there were blocks I could put on the Wii when I had netflix.

I have a kindle fire i received as a gift. My 4 year old has no interest in it even though she is the same as ur daughter when it comes to games on my phone. Id go with something cheaper. My daughter has a leapster explorer (i know, i know, completely different) that she LOVES playing with. Theyre anywhere from $45-$60 depending where u get it and if its on sale. And honestly by the time ur child is old enough to get the full usage out of a kindle fire, theyll have like 4 more newer updated versions.

Sorry, I guess what I was trying to say is unless its an ipad or kindle I haven't been able to find kid proof cases that would fit... Not off brand, I have a samsung android phone, so I know thats not an off brand.

She has the Leapster 2, and likes it in the car, but we keep loosing games, and with the Leapster 2 you cannot download to it. (we found it at a yard sale for $1 so i'm ok with replacing it, just want something she will really like!)
