It really depends. If it is the surgical then a few days of rest and no sex for a while I think. For the pill anywhere from a few days to 4 or 5 weeks. Emotionally though it just depends on the person.

For me; I was to take all my antibiotics for 10 days and no heavy lifting or sex for 6 weeks. I couldn't even pick up my 2yr old (2 at the time). Emotionally, it varies. I was never given the chance to cope with it. Only myself and SO knew about it, so I had to pretend it didn't happen. My advice, don't do that. Let your emotions take over, it makes the healing process easier and faster.

I felt fine afterwards, physically... no pain and hardly any bleeding (mine was surgical at 11 weeks) I could carry on normal activities straight away (if i had wanted to!)
Emotionally was different. I needed help looking after myself the day after and I needed help looking after my children as well. The hormone crash and the emotions are very taxing. I was able to look after myself and my children after a few days, but struggled with emotions and life in general for several weeks. I was back on track after 2 months x

same here i just found out im pregnant yesterday and im going to go to the clinic to get more info on abortion   im worried too

May I ask why both of you ladies have your due dates listed on your profile, despite having chosen to terminate?

Im honestly not 100%. Im looking for a damn miracle with my husband that he will suddenly change his mind. And Im still pregnant.. I wouldnt drink/smoke/ go skydiving knowing im pregnant even if i do terminate.

If you're not 100%, I would think about it long and hard. I know you and your husband are going through hard times right now, but it's your body and therefore your choice.

I had an abortion 2 years ago when I found out my ex was cheating on me.
Physically, I bled for 2 weeks, was on pelvic rest for 4 weeks, had extreme cramping and swelling, and felt nauseous a lot.
Emotionally, I still haven't healed.
I cry all the time, and hate myself a lot.
I self harmed, got Post Natal Depression from it, cried myself to sleep all the time.. its very hard thing to do.

If you feel it is your only option, then I hope you have a better experience.
But honestly make sure it is truly what you want, because it can never be reversed.

At the time I felt so disgusted and depressed and pressured into it that I went through with the abortion.
I regret it now, especially after finding out that at nine weeks the fetus was really progressing and very human like.
It has made this second (and much wanted) pregnancy very bittersweet.
