Quoting I'm me:" say the name at random times in different tones and see if it "fits" if it is something that you think ... [snip!] ... name your LO that. For my children their 1st name is just ones that I liked and their middle names are from their grandparents."

I do this too... I've written out the name and said her name while talking about her and all that... it does help.

Two names were namesakes and the thud was a name each of us liked.

Robert (paternal grandfather) Theodore (name we liked) Bradbury (favorite author)

Gwenevere (name we liked) Antonina Lynn (paternal great-grandmother and grandmother)

I agree ...can't go wrong with those. I know you said you didn't want suggestions but here are 3 I love along with the ones she picked...Samuel David , , Jonah Alexander, Sean Matthew

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will try them. Hopefully I find something before he is born and if not, I hope he won't go too long without a name after he is born.

Autumn was named after my favorite season
Sophia was just a name I found and liked.
Gabriel was our boy choice if Sophia had been a boy, so we recycled, lol. DH picked it because he wanted a child with an Italian name as well as a biblical one.

All of their names were picked within a few weeks of finding out I was pregnant, lol. Except for Autumn. She was Wednesday Marjorie for a while (Marjorie is a french, family name and I still like it. I'm VERY glad I didn't name her Wednesday, though) until like the beginning of my third trimester.

How did you pick Wednesday?

My middle child was nameless until 15mins before we left the hospital LOL! I had a name picked out but their father didn't like it. I wanted Roman, he became a jr. blech.

Hubby actually suggested Tate for our son after I said I liked Tatum.for a girl.

With Bo, we got her name off of the movie "Signs"

Tate's middle name was my great grandfather's last name.

Now Bo's middle name was such a struggle. Finally my mom suggested Delainie and it just felt right.

Maybe just get on some websites and start looking. Or search your family tree for great names.

Don't worry mama! When you find the perfect name it will just feel right.

A friend of mine waited 2 weeks to name all of her kids. She has three boys and decided to wait till she knew them before naming them. They all have the same middle name though

my husband and I are in the middle of discussing our 3rd and last child's name.

We are on completely different sides of the spectrum in regards to taste. This is going to be another struggle like our 2nd. Our first was so much easier!

we just shoot out a name and see what the other one's reaction is.

I happen to love the name Ivy for a girl. My husband unfortunately doesn't. However, Ivy isn't high enough on my list to fight about it, so I'm pushing for the names i like more and hopefully they will grow on him and we won't end up with one of his, because I really don't like his choices.

I had the oposite problem... SO had no opinion... I would say anything from the name Liberty to Rain to Snotfest for the middle name and he would nod and say it's okay.

We knew Lucia was her first name because that was his mom's name and we agreed to use it before I even got pregnant! But the middle name was a pain until I said Natalia and his face just lit up.

I did all the friggin' work on finding a name! haha

LOL

He's much less of a fighter than me. I have to try really hard to not sound like i'm putting my foot down. I know it means a lot to him to have a say, so I'm doing my very best to not sound like I think I'm in charge and it's only my decision.

he does like to tease the heck out of me and throw horrible names just to see my face scrunch up. I guess that's a trade off, right? LOL
