calling all carseat nazis...

does the hospital let you take baby home in a convertable carseat? with my girls, i had infant seats and i plan on buying a myride 65 from the get. this is probably an obvious yes, but i am clueless lol.

Mine did not, they just ask if u need one, they give them out for free where I deliver...if u tell them no they assume u have one...

As long as the baby meets the minimum height/weight requirements, yes.

my question is if i take a convertable seat up there (not an infant seat) if they will let me leave in that, or do i have to buy an infant seat.

thanks, that's what i figured but i had no experience and don't know anyone that has used a convertable seat from NB.

As long as baby meets height and weight requirements they should. When I brought my DD home from the NICU they came out to my car with me to make sure I had the car seat in correctly

As long as it's one of the ones you can use from birth. Call your hospital and ask them.

I wouldn't even do that   They walk you to your damn car. Hold the baby in your arms and then put the kid in the seat. I'd have a major problem if they had an issue with this. The best thing to do is call L&D and make sure they aren't crotchety bitches about it.

Of course. If your baby is over 5 lbs you can.

good question. there is NO law saying you have to use an infant seat. as long your child meets the min weight for your seat. I think the myride is 5 pounds.
i would just bring the seat in. they never checked my infant seat in the car, they just checked that I had dd in it the right way. i guess they didn't' care if I buckled it in the car. lol

i had my 2nd daughter there and that was how they did it. we had to pull the car up but they didn't pay any attention to me getting into the car lol. i'll call them next month probably before my shower.

yea i am going to. it's just going to be a pain in the ass bc it's so BIG and they make me hold it in my lap while they wheel me out.

I know I have the same seat. it's a pain in the ass!
If they offer a free infant seat, take it. We didnt' even bring our seat in until the day they said we could go home
