Getting your 2 year old to sleep?

posted 26th Nov
Ever since LO has had her toddler bed she will not sleep. She hasnt napped in about 3-4 months and getting her to bed at night has become a huge issue. She's been going to sleep so late and to get her to sleep me and SO both have to be laying on the floor while she lays in bed tossing and turning, making noises, climbing out of bed to lay on the floor, etc. and it takes a good hour at least for her to finally go to sleep. Some nights she will fall asleep on the couch, but its pretty rare. Its getting so exhausting since I come home from work at 10-11pm and dont get to bed until 1 most nights.

Any advice?!

I read books until my oldest passes out, then take the 2 yo to the living room and hold him and cuddle in the dark while listening to classical music. Takes about 5 min.

I get him dressed for bed then put him in his bed and get him settled and turn on his good night scout that plays music for twenty minutes. And put my arm over him until he falls asleep. 95% of the time he's asleep before the music stops. This is all done in the dark, well with a night light. But the light goes off after he's in pajamas.

I'm in the saaame situation. Ever since we've put DS in a toddler bed it's been hell trying to get him to fall asleep. I have to lay in the bed w/ him while he flips and flops, talks, wants juice, etc... When he was in the crib, all I had to do was go put him in it and that was it, he fell asleep. Now it's ugh!! I've seriously thought about putting him back in the crib for a lil while longer.
