Preparing your toddler for a new baby?

I just found out a week ago that I am expecting again!! I am very nervous about having a newborn again, but what concerns me the most is that I have a very jealous 3 1/2 year old who is stuck to me 24/7. She gets jealous when I even hold another child. I still have a while to prepare her for the new addition, but I was wondering if any of you have some tips on preparing a jealous toddler??

First of all, you don't know if your child is truly jealous or not. Things are sometimes different when it comes to a sibling vs a random kid. Secondly, just involve him/her as much as you can in the pregnancy. Buy stuff early and start prepping the house and explain that the baby is going to live there too and be part of the family, etc. Then just wing it

Have her help you with getting ready for the baby (let her pick out a few outfits, socks, blankets, toys and so forth and then let her pick where they should go when putting them away)... show her how to care for a baby using a baby doll.. once the baby comes include her with caring for the baby (let her help pick out clothes and help with bath time and if she's up for it teach her how to burp the baby)... Always make special time for her as well (just one on one)... I also bought a gift for my toddler when my 2nd was born and he thought it was sooo nice of his new sibling to get him something... granted these suggestions are just want worked well with my son and seem to be working well with my daughter now that we have baby number 3 due very soon...
