In Chinese funeral we do have a memorial fund like.. Thing is do I pay back the full amount and go into financial crisis or what else can I do

I would contribute what you can now and in a few months approach them and offer to help with her medical bills in small increments.

you don't have to pay back to full amount immediately.... just a little bit at a time, when you can.

Do her parents know you owed her money??

Her medical bills is in thousands so I don't think I can help and the parents are quite well do

I donty know and now the daughter is still on life support system I really don't think they will be in the mood to discuss with me this.As my planning is for Jan to clear at a go when a sum of money will come in but she passed early

Well, it's still an unexpected expense and probably straining on them, even if they're well off. Anything you can contribute I imagine would help.

But definitely don't offer to pay back in full right now. Your friend wouldn't want that.

You're also in a different country with different social norms, so it's really hard for us to give you advice. I think here it'd be extremely rude of her family to accept the money if it would make things difficult for you. Debt should be forgiven upon death, unless they were very desperate to cover her bills.

I mean it's after all her money. It's right to gve back to her and chi have a saying don't owe the passed away 's person money..

maybe you can get all the fam & friends to do a carwash or bake sale. something to rasie the money for them

theres no such culture in singapore.. and if i do a bake sale i would be fine by the authorities in thousands.

I decided to return in full either to her parents or at her funeral. thanks for all the people whom see this post and the inputs. im very upset at losing her. no matter what i do i think of her and im too distracted by her... I feel whole life feeling hopeless..

its hard to give ideas bc i dont know the laws in singapore
