boys and girls

If you're a mom/step-mom to both boys and girls, do they play well together despite gender differences/stereotypes? what are some things they like to do together?

DH and I got to meet his son for the first time in 3-4 years on saturday. (his son is 4) We have a play date at a park scheduled for this upcoming saturday. His son and DD expressed interest in wanting to play with each other, which I'm so happy for! We know they both like Batman and we have a ton of gender neutral toys at home for when his son starts to stay with us. I'm just trying to think of other things they can do together that wouldn't too be boy-ish or girl-ish for the other.
