Contempt

I am super nervous! My ex husband and I have court on Wednesday. He has to prove to them why he doesn't pay child support (which he can't because he gets money every month and can more than afford it.) and if he can't prove it then he will go to jail. Has anyone been through this before? I have no clue what to expect. Will they ask me any questions? I'm so nervous lol

I've never been through this, but I wanted to wish you luck. I know that court is always nerve wracking no matter WHAT it's about lol.

If he has not complied to the court or have a good reason on why he has not been paying when court ordered he may go to jail -NOT always! You, just keep doing what you doing to reinforce the issue..

You will enjoy listening to them bash him left and right while he is in the court room! It was hilarious how that broke my EX into for non payment and he indeed went to jail that day!! LOL

Lol! I'm just super nervous. I'm not even the one who filed for it or whatever. The AG got pissed because he didn't show up (again) to our last court date and she knows he isn't paying anyway and she filed for contempt to make the process faster.

With BD he was in contempt, but they gave him like three months after that to get a job and start paying or they told him he would be in jail for 3 months. So he decided to actually start working and actually start paying. He is still in contempt until he pays off all of his back pay, and if he quits his job then he will automatically go to jail.

He thought he was going to jail that day, and I wish he would have.

See my ex gets like 2000 a month without even having a job lol..and they know that. They just can't automatically take the money because the pay is from the VA which they can't directly touch I guess. But they know he gets it an all of that. So I wonder how that will play in! Did they ask you any questions or anything? I get nervous talking in front of people.
