need some help baby gas

posted 25th Nov
For the last 5-6 days my daughter has been having really bad gas. She always has since she was born but it got better. Now lately she has been grunting and growling constantly. She will be just sitting down and shell start to grunt and growl. When i feed her she growls and arches her back and screams. She squirms all around and throws her arms and legs around and pinches herself or me. She was pulling her hair today and the other night pinching herself and pulling at her clothes. Shes been pooping every other day but its diarrea like poop. And when shes going she strains really bad like she cant go. She is eight months. I guess my question is, is this normal gas or could it be something else? Should i take her in to her pedi or is there anything else i can do to help? She is brestfed.

Eta. Shes also teething and she farts all day.

Nooo this is way past normal gas   I would def get her to the pediatrician asap and ask them. She may have a sensitivity to something you are eating/drinking. (My sister had to go gluten/dairy free while she was breastfeeding because my nephew was allergic and had terrible gas and was not gaining any weight from it) Have you tried the gas drops? I found placing my daughter across my lap and patting her back until she got some gas out very effective for when normal burping did not work well.

Its extreamly hard to burp her. It always has been. I use to get her to burp maybe once every feeding. Now she hardly ever burps. What shes been doing just recently is shell eat a little then stop and move her mouth off and just go to sleep. She use to just sleep with it it her mouth. Idk if thats because of the gas or if its cause shes getting older. I do use the drops but they only help a little bit. Also she use to sleep through the night in her crib now she wakes up every couple hours and sqirms.

Im sorry i know im writing a ton. But now im wondering if everything is related. I thought her gas was just normal and now its getting so bad that im concerned.

Ah darn so much for the reflux theory! Sounds like it could def be a sensitivity to something you are eating. Happens often no it seems! Let us know how it goes by posting on this thread once you find something out please!

so I took her to her pedi and she thinks LO might have food allergies so she's sending her to get lab work done. Were taking her in tomorrow to get the test.

I hope it's nothing too hard to avoid!! Gluten is a bitch but honestly, they are finally diagnosing it right so much that there are a lot of alternatives and options now for gluten alternatives. Still a pain though!
