Has anybody used Follistim with Pen?

I am so confused and worried. I am a 100% sure that I followed the instructions and that I always put the right number. I have 900 iu catridges and am currently on 300 iu. Therefore one catridge should last exactly 3 days. I just finished 3 days, but when I took the catridge out it looked like quiet a bit was left in there, when it should have been empty? Has that happened to anybody. I don't have my appointment until Tuesday and it worries me.

That is totally normal. The come with extra in case of mis use and/or spillage. Good luck to stimulating and then conceiving!

Yes all of the injectables should come with overage in them... just in case  So rest easy. Are you doing IVF? Is this your first cycle?

Its my sesond IVF , but my first one with Follistim and I have never used a pen. I love to have started the cycle, but the meds part is stressful to me.

Well best of luck this second time!! And I DO NOT miss all the meds;) Can't believe what a distant memory they have become but when I discuss or think about it remember it so clearly. Hope time flies for you and you get your positive before you know it.

I am!   First cycle I developed pretty bad hyperstimulation. The retrieved 34 eggs, 24 mature and 20 fertilized! We cancelled the transfer from the hyperstim and froze. We had 13 embryos that made it to day 5. So long process, 6 frozen transfers resulting in 1 pregnancy with loss at 8wks. Then new doc and fresh cycle much more controlled and got a normal 8 eggs transfered the only healthy 2 embryos at day 3 resulting in my as of today 16 month old daughter;)!!!!! I know it's a crazy process, hell it was my "job" for so long. Over 2 years! Now it's just a crazy memory and worth every moment a million times over every day  I truly do wish you the best and if you need to vent or have questions feel free to message me  I'll help if I can. PP is correct! You get ~75-100iu overfill in each cartridge. That's why us out of pocket payers get the smallest cartridges.

This makes me feel much better! First check up tomorrow. Can't wait to see how those ovaries are doing!

Good luck with your IVF cycle! I did 1 cycle and have my 7 month old as a result   Im pretty sure they give you a little extra medication

Thank you! I will find out this pm if I can move ahead with my cycle. Yesterday they found a giant lead follicle. They don't think its a cyst as it wasn't there at baseline. The follicle measured yesterday 26 mm after only 4 days of stims :-o I have serveral other once that measure somewhere from 10 to 12 mm (which apparently was good). I went back today and the ultrasound tech said the big one is still there, but she can't measure it at 26mm, but only at 22mm. Either way, she said it looks like it didn't grow while the others did.
I will get a call this pm from the nurse to let me know what we will do. Praying they won't cancel on me!
