Would it be awful...

My doctor told me that If i go overdue they would induce 10 days after my due date (Sunday December 9th would be 10 days after). I don't think that they do inductions on Saturday's and Sunday's so that would put it on Monday the 12th. My boyfriend will be going back to work on Wednesday November 28th(the day before my due date!) after being off for just a little over 3 weeks. Finances are a little tight because of this and because we randomly ended up moving two weeks before the shut down as well as I ended up being put on bed rest at 34 weeks. Would it be awful if I asked my doctor to induce on Friday December 7th? That way he would miss as little work as possible and still get time to bond with the baby? Or should I wait till they would want to do it(on the Monday) and have him potentially miss out on a few days of work?

no, doesnt sound unreasonable to me! but, ladies on this site tend to be vicious about inductions, so take comments w a grain of salt, good luck, and easy labor dust to you, and hopefully you go on ur own!!

I dont see a problem with requesting it since you will be over due..

Why would it be awful? you'll be 40 weeks, right? it's not like you'll be 35 weeks, lol.

Yeah i would be 41 weeks and a day on the 7th, I just feel bad about the whole "He'll come when he is ready" thing.

In my own personal opinion, you should wait until your baby comes UNLESS you get to a dangerous point, like three weeks over and your placenta is dying, etc. etc. Due dates can be off up to two weeks on either side. Your baby will come when your baby is ready!

That said, it's your choice.

i dont think that is unreasonable, thats already past your due date by 8 days, goodluck to you.

My doctor I had with the last one said he'd only let me go 1 week overdue. Some ladies told me inductions don't work! If your 40 weeks, do it anytime you want. Good luck to you and I hope it goes okay.
