I would not leave my child with someone else. I'm sorry, but he will learn to deal. I'm sorry you have to go through this, and the first few weeks are sure to be hell, but he'll learn.

Has he had any testing done?

I hope things aren't as bad as you think they will be. But I would (obviously) not leave him unattended with the baby.

My son (who is 5 now), was TERRIFIED of babies a few months ago. He wouldn't walk by them, hated seeing them on tv, everything. I ended up showing him a picture of a brand new baby on here actually, with the umbilical cord still attached and he LOVED it. He's perfectly fine with them now, I'm not too sure what about the picture changed it though.
I hope things get easier for you and that he adapts quickly.

Quoting Peyton's~Mom:" Okay, so.. I have a 3 year old son and a son due in Febuary. Well, since my son was about a year and ... [snip!] ... going to act.... Ugh, I just don't know... I need words of encouragement or something right now : / Sorry this is so long. "

I had my twins very involved with my pregnancy. They went to the Dr with me for every visit and every U/S. I had them "help" pick out things for my son. They picked out towels, blankets ect... When we went shopping for some baby clothes, we stopped by Build a Bear and they made their own animals and got a monkey for their brother. They didn't like other kids much either. I have always (except a few months) been a sahm. The environment in my home is much different than a daycare. I am structured and they have a solid routine. The one time I took them to daycare, the kids were running all over the place with no rhyme or reason. It was chaos! Anyway, they were 25 months old when he was born. He was their baby. I just got them excited about him and now 2 1/2 years later, they are like the three amigos! lol

I'm not leaving him w/ anyone. I'm just at a loss, I feel.
He's been tested for congnitive skills, adaptive, social, fine motor skills.. Things like that. He was a little off on ome of them, but barely. They recommended speech therapy, that was it. Tey said that they wre prettysurethat he didn't have Autism, but was def. on the spectrum.

omg I am watching this. I am going to be having twins in 8 days and my little girl who is 4 is a lot like this around babies. She barely tolerates her classmates. I have not been able to do anything to help her deal with it and been trying to use her therapies to help but all that did was make her more upset around babies. Oh btw my child is autistic though along with adhd.

Maybe buy him a baby doll to practice being a big brother? Let him pick it out, and play up how important of a job he will have?
