oh Sesame Street why do you have to make my life so hard?.. today's subject: SIBLINGS!!
A few days ago Hailee asked me: "I have a sister & maybe a brother too so w can all go to the park and play together". Thing is due to my disability & also being diagnosed with HG when I was pregnant with her, I won't be having more babies😔 I want at least 2 more but I'm not confidant at all about it happening!!
Well about an hour ago I was sitting with DD and watching Seseme Street. Because of today's subject she bought up the brother & sister thing again The first time I laughter & said "ask your dad!!" [she didn't of course] BUT this time I tried to say it in a way she would understand without using to much medical talk and stuff [btw my DD is 4] I said: "no Hailee no sibling, I'm sorry!"
I need help!!!!!!!
[how do I get her to understand?]
it breaks my heart 😢😢😢

Talk to her about how some families have one kid, and some have none, and some have 2,3,4,... And your family has one awesome kid because your body isn't going to work right to make another. That you are so happy with your one kid though, so it is ok.

Aww, I am so sorry, mama, I can't imagine how horrible that must feel.
Maybe approach it like this: "Hailee, mommy and daddy love you SOOO much and you are our one special girl! Mommy can't have babies anymore, but that is OK, because we have you and you are so special to us!"

This! Your family is perfect the way it is. And with just her, you have more time to do special things with her.
Pets make great "siblings" too, if she's just interested in a playmate/ companionship.

Thanks!!
Yeah at moment I think it's because a few friends of her's have siblings & she can't understand why she just can't have one. I think it's also about the playing thing too...like when she's playing she ALWAYS wants us & obviously we can't always do that & she won't play on her own at all!!!! I tell my hubby it's the "i need a sibling syndrome" Lol but it never works lol.

have any of you ladies been through this? Like obviously not all because of medical reasons but because you and SO decided one was enough to complete your family? I just feel like mine isn't & it sucks!!
