Im blown out of the water with the decision to smoke so close to delivery.
Very irresponsible....

This is true. Op my advice make that last time the last time. A friend of mine was being investigated for pot. They came for random tests at home till so many were clean before dismissing the case. But not all cases are handled the same so you never know what will happen. They also tested her so since they live together so it might be a good idea for anyone you live with that smokes to clean it up too.

When i had my first 2 in TX they drug tested me and the baby, that's just how they did it at the hospital i had my kids at. With my last pregnancy they tested me when i first started going to my OB and then said they'd do it again in the 3rd trimester and if i tested positive they'd notify DSS. I never smoked pot and haven't touched drugs in over 6 years. After i had my baby they didn't test me but if they do they are required by law to report it.

they tested me along with a way way more detailed STD testing than they did at my other OB. If I was drug tested at my previous dr I didn't know. This dr posts all my labs online on a patient portal.

I'm pretty sure my OB in TX drug tested me too, and this time around they had me meet the office manager (standard for every new patient) and she told me about what they had to offer since they had medicaid and wic in the same building as the OB. She said that she had a girl test positive in the 2nd trimester of her pregnancy and was told to get clean but tested positive again in the 3rd and then her child did too and she said the baby was taken for a while. I mean i know pregnancy is hard and the pain sometimes can feel unbearable but risking your child to get high for a little just isn't worth it. Ever.

why in the smurf would you smoke pot while pregnant? Is it really that important to you?

I don't think its the worst that could be done... but im still trying to figure out why the hell anyone would smoke the day before their baby is due to arrive? Seems ridiculous to me. I personally think smoking anything during pregnancy is wrong but to each their own...

I'm a little surprised at the responses to this thread. I see mom's on here talk about smoking (or vaping/eating/whatever) while pregnant all the time. I'm not one of them, but I rarely see people making negative comments to them. Not necessarily your smartest move to do it the day before being induced though, OP. Good luck.

really? there are few that have commented on pot beign bad...just that it was a stupid move. Knowing it's an illegal substance...and smoking right before going to a hospital to deliver is beyond stupid. I dont' care if someone chooses to smoke pot... but doing ANYTHING illegal puts your parentage at risk... so why do it RIGHT BEFORE there is a chance at getting screened?

Seeing as it is on your record I would say that they'll test you and if anything happens you only have yourself to blame. Why would you even consider doing something like this - you don't know the effects it can have on your child!

To be honest, in my opinion, if you take any illegal substances in pregnancy you aren't fit to parent as you're obviously too selfish and put your wants before the needs of your baby who depends solely on YOU to survive.
I lost a twin in my last pregnancy and didn't even eat mayonnaise in case it hurt my babies if it was a bad batch. I did NOTHING to harm my babies and I still lost one yet there are drug users who go on to have no miscarriages.

People like you make me sick, as do the people siding with you. You girl are an absolute disgrace. I have looked after foster children with my mother for years and the learning difficulties some have faced due to substance abuse in pregnancy is heartbreaking.

very well put, i agree 100 percent, also, very sorry for you loss.

You're not going to get your baby taken away for this. They would also see you have such a low level of it in your system. I could see them maybe doing random drug test's on you after giving birth,but if you're not a drug addict then you should have no problem passing.
