elf on the shelf fail.

so ds had seen the movie and asked if he would get an elf. The thing always creeped me out but since he seemed intrested i thought it would be fun to have it get into all kinds of things at night. saw alot of cool ideas on pintrest.
well it back fired.
she was hiding in the back bedroom and ds found her. asked if santa brought it. I said yes. so we read it. we named it. and he hated it. he asked if it would be rude if we gave her back to santa. I told him no it wouldn't she doesnt have to stay. he picked her up with his blanket and put her in the bathtub, asked her not to come out and to go back to santa.
since then he has been whispering because he doesnt want her to hear us.
I made a big todo about thinking she went back to the north pole early. ( i went to the bathroom and stuffed her under my shirt to get rid of her)
He was happy with that and asked again to make sure she was gone and that santa knew she wasnt welcome here.
so Princess apple circus is now back at the north pole never to return.

Lol! How old is your son? My girls LOVE Zippy. We got him last year when they were 3. My son is now 2. Zippy is a great "be good or else" tool in my house. Lol

He is 3. Im not sure what freaked him out about it. I think had he not found her and we introduced her as planned it would have went over better. It started out well, He was really into namming her but then once we finished the story he had this scared look on his face and just wanted her to leave. I think it was the whole she is watching you and reporting to santa that freaked him out.

Aww! Yeah, I can see how thinking someone is watching you might freak out a 3 year old. I would have loved it, I think - but that can be taken in a really creepy way.

LOL Probably! My kids get all upset when I tell them that Zippy is going to tell santa they were naughty. I do alot of positive reinforcement with him as well. I tell them that he tells Santa all the good and exciting things they do. Sometimes they draw pictures for Zippy to take to Santa and sometimes Zippy brings a "Keep up the good work" gift.

Love the name, ours is Llama Bama, lol.

That might be a great idea. Perhaps have her doing something silly with a letter and maybe a "gift" (get a $1 toy from walmart and wrap it in the type of wrapping paper that you will use for Santa gifts).

I only use one type of paper for Santa gifts. When Zippy brings something, it is in the same paper so the girls relate it to Santa.
