Today I went walking around our local mall for a few hours with my BF, I am 36 (37 tomorrow) and for the past 1/2hr or so I have been having some stabbing pain in my cervix. I keep feeling baby move around in the upper part of my belly under my ribs and then I feel this stabbing pain in my cervix during her movements. It feels like sharp pin pricks, or maybe tearing, and burns a little. It was hurting so bad in the store i had to lean against a wall, and it felt like she was going to fall out! I read this could be thinning of the cervix, or nerve pain. Not sure... not sure if I should talk to dr or wait till my next apt? Anyone else have this issue?
I will also be 37 weeks tomorrow & I have been getting these pains a lot. I've heard sooo many different things. People are telling me it's the cervix thinning, babies head pushing down, baby stretching, baby pushing on a nerve. Ugh, lol. I would like some answers. I'm going to ask my doctor Tuesday if no one here knows.

Quoting coℓton's mama. «3:" Lol, not long now! Are you excited?"
Very excited, and hoping this IS my cervix thinning because I absolutely want her to come on time or a bit early, I do NOT want her to be late because we want her home in time for Christmas!
I've had the same since about 35 weeks! The only thing I could come up with was baby pushing down or her hands scraping my cervix. >.< I have to stop dead in my tracks each time because of the pain! And sometimes it won't go away after sitting or trying to lay down. )x definitely not a great feeling! LOL!

Have you dialated at all yet?
I am extremely excited! I really am hoping that's what it means too. I'm already 2 cm dialated & 70% effaced. So I hope that means he's coming soon or on time. I really hope he doesn't come at 42 weeks.
My guess is you're thinning. I've been getting those a lot & found out last week (35+0 weeks) that I'm 3cm & 75% effaced. Since Tuesday I will only be 36 weeks I'm stuck with my feet up. Since I've been on semi bed rest for 5 days I'm not getting them as much until I get a little too active like a load of laundry or quick run to grocery store.
Also, I was checked Friday and the nurse checked me and said if anything I may be a fingertip dilated and said nothing about being effaced. So idk! >.<

I will be term tomorrow, but I don't want him to come unless he & my body are ready. So, I kind of hope that's what it means.

I agree. I won't be term for another 9 days so to hear that at my 35 week appt had me excited to hear the pains were actually due to progress but at the same time nervous so much progress has been made so soon. I know that I could walk around for awhile like this but as a precaution was told to keep my feet up & drown myself with fluids. As ready as I am to get the show on the road and meet my first princess she needs to bake for a few more weeks
