I did nothing wrong

I don't understand dh sometimes. He's upset I told our 5 year old that babies come out the vagina. I didn't lie to her, she's a smart girl. She knows I push the baby out but was just confused as from where. I guess because my mom was open with me I feel the same but dh was raised to not speak of such things until your an adult.
How do you do it when your views are different?

She was old enough to ask so old enough to get the truth IMO.

This! My 2 yr old son and 3 yr old niece know a lot about child birth...have even watched videos with me!

What exactly was he expecting you to say? I don't know, maybe it's because my child isn't old enough to be thinking about such things and I haven't faced it yet, but I'd rather answer truthfully than lie. My parents told me all sorts of stupid smurf as a kid and I'd rather they had been honest.

My whole family thinks its bad that my daughter knows that girls have vaginas and boys have penis'. Imy thought is that she should be taught the correct names first. I hate all the silly names people call those parts.

We see it as don't answer any questions that aren't asked.
When DD asked where babies come from, I told her they grow in Mommy
s bellies until they're ready to be born.
When she asks how the babies get in there or how they get out, I will answer, but nothing more than what she asks.
I know some people who's kids asked where babies come from and they went into the whole "when a mommy and daddy are in love...' *GAG*

my boyfriend and i have already talked about this, we wont lie or make smurf up either. if he wants to know, he'll get an answer. its normal for children to ask. my parents never talked with me about that kinda stuff, i had to find everything out and then feel ashamed about it. its not a good thing lol

What else were you going to do? Lie to her? My parents never talked about that stuff and I thought that you unbuttoned your belly button to take the baby out until I was like 7 then i saw a move where te mom pushed te baby out so i assumed it came out of her butt.
I didn't even know I had three holes down there until I was in 9th grade health, because sex and our bodies were such a taboo topic in my plhouse growing up. When I got my period at 11 thought I was dying and didn't know what to do, my mom found my stained underwear and yelled at me asking what it was. I didn't want to get in trouble so I told her it was poop, and she more on. I went through almost a year of irregular periods before my friend's mom told me that's what it was.
Would he prefer she grow up like me, or actually be informed? Lol

My mom was raised the same way, I'm sure that's why she was straight forward with me.

Yup. My son is five, will be 6 in two weeks, and when he wanted a new baby brother over the summer he asked me if we were going to give him one. And followed it with "mommy is your egg dropping for daddy's swimmers?"
He is very informed. He doesn't know about actually intercourse, but rest, yup.

My daughter is 3. She uses correct terms for girl/boy anatomy, tells people that I have a baby in my uterus, and knows it I'll come out if my vagina. I don't care if anyone thinks I am weird, my daughter is informed.
