I'm making cheesy chicken and rice casserole with broccoli in it tonight. Do I need to pre-cook.the.broccoli? If yes, how? It's frrsh. Tia

I agree.

When I cook a casserole with broccoli, I leave em raw. They usually get soft from the steam of the cooking casserole.

I would slightly boil/steam them. Not to the point where they are cooked, but just enough for them to get a head start before going into the oven.

I always leave them raw. They come out perfect every time. Well I like them a little soft and a little bit crunchy still.

I would blanch it for about 30 seconds and then throw it in cold water to stop the cooking process. I've found that the water in frozen veggies can make a casarrole soggy.

I already made it. I steamed it a little bit and it was very yummy.
