You know what you can also do... still wrap her gifts and let her open them.. on christmas day still have a special time set aside for all the fun stuff... make a ginger bread house with her.. and let her eat a little of it... take lost of pictures and still make it special... No christmas isnt about the presents but I understand how you feel... if you cant afford much go to the dollar store and get a little small tree and decorate it ... there are ways to make it special.. and you know you could always pm me your address and I would be more than happy to send you some diapers and wipes  

To be completely honest, I barely got my daughter anything last year when she was little (because my family, literally went over board) But i was SO dissappointed. halfway through I had to open stuff because she was more excited about the damn wrapping paper. Honestly, my family coulda wrapped two gifts and gave me the rest.. Besides it not only about gifts..
And its not like shes 5 or 6 where she gets the whole concept.

You can take $10 to a thrift store and get some neat baby toys. She won't know the difference. And having a home is much, much more important. Two gifts is really enough for a baby, though. She just won't know any different!

Thanks ladies! Y'all made me feel better about the situation. I guess I'm just being whiney. I feel like I've worked so hard and the rug was pulled right out from under me  . We will be okay though. She has everything she needs so maybe we can have our own Christmas in a couple months. (:

Go the Salvation Army....they will probably help with food and stuff for your kid!

Sign up for Toys for Tots, let family & friends know, maybe they can pitch in for a couple gifts, go to a Dollar Store and buy like 10 or 20 bucks of stuff and a tube of wrapping paper so LO has a bunch of stuff to unwrap, even if it is little stuff.

As for the lease, yeah an occupant on a lease is liable, and has the same rights & responsiblities as the main signer. You were co-tenants. The landlord does not care who pays or or didnt pay what, as long as they get their money. How the people occupying a rental divvy up the bills, they dont care about, they just want their money.
