cold lasting a week or more.

DS is 1 year old. He's had a cold for 8 days now. It just started with a runny nose...and progressed into a cough. Now it's both and it's just getting worse. It's a really wet cough and his breathing is so crackle'y'. I have to fake cough a lot just to get him to copy me and cough some of it up.
We're using saline drops and a cool mist humidifier but it doesn't seem to really help.
I have developed a sore throat and changed voice but that's all..no runny nose for me. SO had it really bad...sore throat and cough so bad he thought his throat was going to close...but he's over it now. And I'm almost over mine.
But DS's is not getting any better.
He is having a lot of trouble sleeping but other than that he is okay when he isn't exhausted...and has not had a fever at all.
Should I just give it some more time or call the pedi tomorrow? I'm just a little worried about pneumonia since he's had it before but that was bacterial and caused a fever...or asthma since he has allergies and it all runs in his family.

If the breathing is sounding crackly I would probably make an appt. my dd just got over a cold and it lasted quite a while though, more than a week. Hope it gets better soon!
