Yes, I accept recovered slut.
Or Slut in remission.

LMAO I guess I'm one too!

Though I cannot say I've every dressed "slutty" in my opinion. I've dressed sexy and maybe a bit revealing... but never "slutty". But damn, those sexual partners numbers sure did rack up!

So what's the definition of a lady? A prudish woman who wears beige suits and pearls?

Quoting Harlot O'Scara:" But that's just it though. Why? Why is it so horrible that you must call someone names because of PERSONAL choices they make that don't concern you? "

Well then don't call anyone anything.
I mean smurf. You couldn't think to yourself, jeez that kid looks kinda emo. That girl looks wealthy. That dude looks trashy. That girl looks slutty. She has a bitch face.

I am going to think things about everyone. Judging. It's natural. Your brain does it whether you SAY it or not.

http://esciencenews.com/sources/the.guardian.science/2009/03/09/brain.circuit.found.judges.people.first.impressions

Scientists have recorded the gentle flicker of activity that lights up the brain when we form our first impressions of people. The study shows how age-old brain circuitry that evolved to make snap decisions on the importance of objects in the environment is now used in social situations.
Brain scans taken while volunteers formed opinions of new acquaintances found activity surged in an ancient neural circuit that helps us make a rapid assessment of a person's character.
"Humans have always been engaged in making decisions on what's important and what's not, and social decision making is taking advantage of these primary systems in the brain," said Daniela Schiller, who led the study at New York University.
"Whenever you need to assign value to something, you use the same mechanism, whether it's an inanimate object or a person. It's like there's one common currency in the brain."
Previous work by neuroscientists has shown we form our first impressions well within 30 seconds of meeting people. Often, our opinion changes very little after knowing them for longer.
"When you meet a person, they might say something, or look a certain way, or behave a certain way, but you have very little information on which to form an opinion, but it is almost instantaneous and you can't withhold from doing it," said Schiller.
In the study, published in Nature Neuroscience, Schiller and scientists from Harvard University took brain scans of 19 volunteers who were asked to form a first impression of a series of fictional characters.
The volunteers were shown faces of men on a computer screen, followed by six sentences that described a mix of good and bad aspects of their character. For example, the person might have picked up his room mate's post on the way home from university, or told a fellow student they were stupid. After reading all of the sentences, the participants were asked to rate how much they liked the person on a scale from one to eight, with eight being the most likable.
Schiller's team then looked through the images from the scanner to see what brain regions had been most active while people formed their first impressions.
The scans showed that two brain regions were involved in opinion-forming, the almond-shaped amygdala, which is linked to regulating emotions, and the posterior cingulate cortex, which is active in making financial decisions and putting values on the outcomes of situations.
"Even when we only briefly encounter others, brain regions that are important in forming evaluations are engaged, resulting in a quick first impression," said Elizabeth Phelps, a co-author on the study at New York University.
Understanding the biological circuits involved with opinion forming might help scientists learn what happens when they are disrupted or fail to activate properly. "It might affect the impressions you have of others, and that could feed into the basis of your relationship with them from then on," said Schiller.

When you can figure out a way to make everyone stop judging each other then you will have gotten somewhere.

It's all about the way you act, honestly. I don't give a smurf if you sleep with 5 guys at once and get up the next morning and do it again - but you don't need to go around talking about it, posting on facebook about it, hanging off of dudes all the time, going after guys who are in relationships already - thats slutty.

As for the way people dress......there is a way to dress sexy without looking like you just came from the set of a porno flick and if you choose to represent yourself in that way, then you deal with the repercussions.

I think at some point in their lives, most women are called a slut for some stupid reason or another.

I am passionate about it not for selfish reasons, but because I am generally passionate about progress for women. I'm one of those feminists you hear about.

I don't think so because I wear gray suits and pearls and I normally get judged as being "vintagy" lol

I've never been called a homewrecker before but get kinda passionate about not calling a "mistress" a homewrecker and instead calling the cheating spouse the homewrecker...

It's not something that "hits close to home" or anything... just something that irks me!

I think the point isn't to stop judging in general - the point is that there is an inequity in female vs. male sexuality and we need to change society's attitudes about female sexuality. people wouldn't call women "sluts" if female sexuality were not considered a negative, shameful thing in our culture.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Harlot O'Scara:</b>" ....Those are still all really stupid reasons to judge someone so harshly. What does it matter if a girl is doing any of that? What concern is it of yours? Why call her names?"</blockquote>

I know you weren't asking me, but it's everyone's concern because a lot of skanky girls (and guys) don't care if they spread diseases around, then the guys they sleep with spread it around, ect. The more people you sleep with the more likely you are to spread Diseases around the population. Then if someone gets in a relationship they can spread it to their innocent SO. That's disgusting. That's one reason I don't like people who sleep around. Even if they are using protection, a condom can break at any second. I think people should have more respect for themselves and not sleep with a bunch of people in a short amount of time. It's just unattractive and it's just gross. Also, a lot of people that sleep around don't care if the guy is married, and if she's sleeping around with a lot of other people then gives this married guy a disease, then he goes home and gives t to his innocent wife, what I'd she's breastfeeding their baby and the baby gets it?

I just think its wrong and it can affect a bunch of people.

Same here. Man-Whore is a common term in my vocab. I'm more likely to call a man a man-whore than a woman a slut, to be honest.
