I would say something to the teacher and let her talk to the parent

Yes, you speak to the teacher. your child and your Niece are being bullied by some little boy and it's already escalated to physical violence. Nobody puts their hands on my children, regardless of age. I'd speak to the Teacher, ask to have a meeting with the other parent if necessary. What kind of person laughs about their kid punching another kid?

Ugh, little kids are so mean. Seriously, most adults have nothing on the hurtful things children can say or do. I would tell the teacher that he's running around punching girls in the stomach, and that she needs to do something about it. If it becomes painfully obvious that she won't, tell your little girl to stick up for herself. If it's okay for him to hit her, there's no reason she shouldn't be able to knock him right back.

There is a very good reason. They learn their adult behavior as children. If 2 adults were to hit each other, no matter who threw the first punch, both go to jail. You just don't put your hands on people.

See I asked her if the teacher did anything and she said yes she did and the little kid cried...I still want to ask this teacher though...

Thanks, I didn't think I was thinking too much into it.

Yeah, but just like in that situation, if a man put his hands on me, and the people in authority (police) wouldn't do anything about it, I would beat the hell out of him. That's why I said talk to the teacher first. I was always taught you go to your teachers/authoritative figures first, and if they don't do anything about it, you do.

This. I would speak to the teacher, principal, and the boys parents. The boy needs to learn that there are consequences to bullying others and that it is not acceptable, but he's not going to learn if people just laugh it off (I can't for the life of me understand the kind of mom that would do that).
