It depends on the parent. Every parent has different rules and all that for their children. My son is 3 and we do not let him play video games or electronic games. We are strict with that stuff though, he was not allowed to watch tv till he turned 2 and even then he only gets tv on weekends. Never on weekdays. And he only gets a morning show and a night time family movie on weekends.
That's our personal way of parenting... I'm not anti-video games or any thing like that.. but we don't want him "gaming" this young.
I homeschool him basically and he learns without electronics right now. I do what I feel is best for MY child. You and your husband need to decide what you feel is best for YOUR child and not let people get you down about it! I've had people make comments about my tv rules with my son (since they are pretty strict) But I don't care.. that's what my husband feel is best for him. And I'm not going to let others get to me about it.
