Contractions after sex

My husband is scared to have sex with me because I always have contractions afterwards. He knows enough not to ejaculate in me but I still have bad contractions. I refuse to waste a trip to the ER but I am 34 weeks. Should I be concerned or not worry?

It is not uncommon to have contractions following intercourse w/ or w/out ejaculation! However , depending on the duration and the discomfort you have I would refrain from sex and too since you are so far along.

They very rarely lead to labor, unless your body is already ready to go into labor. It is highly unlikely they'd make you have any progress as far as dilating etc. It's safe as long as you don't have preterm labor issues or your doctor says otherwise

I used to get them (BH contractions) for hours afterwards.

Time them. Unless they are consistently 5 minutes apart, it's probably not real labor contractions. I would get them 3 mins apart, then 5, then 3 again, then 9 minutes, and they would gradually get farther apart and stop.

An orgasm causes the uterus to contract. I used to get a really big contraction afterwards and if they continues they weren't uncomfortable. That's when I used to get sex. Take a bath if you are uncomfortable.
