Quoting justplainme93:" Well just got out of L&D...still no little man Cervix is super soft (whatever that means) but ... [snip!] ... sick or something today because I look like I'm dying lol Hopefully she'll induce me tomorrow and I'll have my little guy soon"
Your cervix being soft just means that you're getting ready for labor. But it could be soft for a while before anything happens.
Did they test the fluid? Did the nurse stick a swab up there to test it? If not, then (no offence to the nurse) she's an idiot. That's the only way to test and make sure it is or isn't fluid (unless your water broke completely.
With your first, they usually don't and won't induce unless it's medically necessary. You can always try, but I honestly think he will say no.
He will come when he's ready. The longer he is in there, the better for him. He needs as much time in utero as possible. Keep in mind, your due date can be off by TWO weeks, not matter what ultrasounds say.
I had DD at "36" weeks....no she was only in me for 34. My due date was wrong. So keep that in mind. I was also told (by ultrasound) she was going to be about an 8 pound baby at birth, she was 6 and dropped to 5 immediately. They lie. So keep him in as long as you can. The longer, the better.
