Quoting I'm His Amy He's My Rory:" Have you ever thought how much knowing that's how you felt probably hurts his feelings? Not that you ... [snip!] ... upset knowing I hated our dog when we got her and wanted to get rid of her. I can't imagine How he'd feel if it were our child."
I can understand where it would be hurtful for someone, but he should also realize that she was suffering from PPD. My husband suffers from depression and said something that hurt me a great deal when our son was young. But I realized then and now that it was depression talking and not him. I couldn't dream of ever, ever holding that against him because I know he hates himself enough for struggling with it. I do get where you're coming from, but I don't think anyone should hold a mental illness against another, especially when you're supposed to love them.
OP, you need to have a very serious conversation with your husband, I think. I would not be able to be happy with someone who would hold something like that over my head forever and I can't imagine anyone else would be, either. I'm sorry.
