That's so horrible   I hate it when people use things that have happened in the past against you. And over something like changing a nappy? That's just cruel. Have you said anything about it since? I'd be demanding an apology after that one.

Have you ever thought how much knowing that's how you felt probably hurts his feelings? Not that you felt that intentionally, but imagine if you had to carry on knowing at one point he hated your child. It probably still hurts him, and threatening to leave and take his kids will make it worse. I think it's something you both really need to have a deep conversation and maybe some counseling over. Hell my husband still gets upset knowing I hated our dog when we got her and wanted to get rid of her. I can't imagine How he'd feel if it were our child.

Any mature, understanding person would understand that mental instability should NEVER be held against a person. PPD is more than just moodiness and such. It's a chemical imbalance and is completely not anybody's fault. It's cruel and petty to use mental conditions against another person. No matter what was said.

Wtf.. o.O I never said hold it against her. But that doesn't mean it didn't severely hurt his feelings. PPD isn't a one way street there peaches. It affects all involved and even fathers can get it.

I can understand where it would be hurtful for someone, but he should also realize that she was suffering from PPD. My husband suffers from depression and said something that hurt me a great deal when our son was young. But I realized then and now that it was depression talking and not him. I couldn't dream of ever, ever holding that against him because I know he hates himself enough for struggling with it. I do get where you're coming from, but I don't think anyone should hold a mental illness against another, especially when you're supposed to love them.
OP, you need to have a very serious conversation with your husband, I think. I would not be able to be happy with someone who would hold something like that over my head forever and I can't imagine anyone else would be, either. I'm sorry.

I say this as nicely as possible.

In the time i have known you i have heard things he has done and you know what? I would have left his ass long ago... He just seems to be so unsupportive of you! It seems like the root of all your issues stems from him or is made 1000x's worse by him..... If your not happy dont stay, its not worth wasting your life in a situation that isnt happy on anybody.

If i over stepped the boundary im sorry

Exactly. It's never right to hold things like that against anyone. I agree. But no one is perfect and feelings get hurt. And that's why I said they need to have a serious conversation about it and maybe some counseling. I can understand both sides honestly.

I agree that he definitely does not seem to be very mature or emotionally supportive. It doesn't sound to me like he even makes an effort to be.

Is he in counseling a well? Because he should be. Perhaps you could go together?

i know mediation gets done here in SA for these situatons. Alot of guidelines get set up example Jay having so many allergies so specifying food restraints.

Honestly he may be depressed too and need medication. Have you asked him to see a doctor himself, and join you at your counseling?
