leap pad??

i have a smarty pants 2 year old, would a leap pad be a good gift?
what kind of leap pad is best and are they really worth the price? any other suggestions are welcome.

not sure... I have a 3 year old and wondered too.
I got lucky and got her a leapster 2 at walmart on thanksgiving for $20 (instead of $57) so I was happy with that.
anything made by leap frog company is really great though IMO

We got my daughter a Leap Pad and ended up taking it back. I knew that you had to buy apps for it and figured that they would be around $5 or so. They were $20+ an app! I didn't think it was all that great of a learning toy myself. I just let her use my iPod.
