I've never had one. I heard it actually doesn't take very long & doesn't hurt. Some people have said they feel sore or feel pain afterwards but not for very long. Idk about costs...

I've heard that an early abortion can be compared to a really bad period in terms of pain and bleeding. I had a d&e which is much different close to 10 years ago.

I'm not against abortions for the proper reasons (rape or because you simply cannot take on raising another child) I know I would be contemplating having one if I somehow got pregnant because I'm already financially, emotionally and physically drained single handed raising a 2 year old. However... (and I know what forum im in) I wouldn't refer to it as "taking care of the problem" and "getting rid of it" it just sounds heartless.

There really isn't much paperwork aside from showing ID and signing some papers... as far as tests go they just do an ultrasound to see how far along you are. You can choose to be put to sleep or be awake for it... afterwards it feels like you are on your period (this will vary from person to person and depending on how far along you are). I had an abortion for medical reasons

There are 2 types depending on how far along you are:

If you are 8week and under you can do the pill. It is said to cause extreme labor like cramping. But you have a kid so you can handle it.
It's usually around 600ish?

Suction where they use a shot to dilate you and suction. Pain tolerance is different for everyone.

Since you're already going through depression this can prob cause you to get worse, so I would make a dr apt to see a counselor.

I have had one and I was put to sleep for it. Will you be asleep or awake? It makes a big diffrents on what the process is like

Well it might be heartless, but right now I just don't need it. I've got one already...and chaotic enough of a life. It would just be way too much.
When I found out I was pregnant with my first, I was scared....but I knew I wanted to keep her. This time, I was horrified...and I knew I didn't want it from the very second I saw the positive test. Just the way it is for me right now. I can't handle it. And I don't want to risk being a bad mother to two children, I'd rather be an okay, stressed out mother to one.

I completely understand the situation and the decision. Like I said being a single mom since my daughter was 6 months old and it is very hard. Even if I had help I don't know if I'd be able to have another one now given how difficult it is just raising one. I'm not trying to be judgemental in the slightest about your situation only that I wouldn't word it like that :/

You made an announcement a while back saying you were clearing your PT and going on a break, so you may have cleared me out   But it's all good!

Thanks again so much all of you...I need to go on Monday and figure out how far along I am. I guess I'll go from there. If I have the option I think I'll just be put to sleep. Don't wanna see...just want to move on with my life and continue getting my own smurf figured out.

You could try an IUD, the patch, shot, Nuva Ring, lots of alternatives to the pill. I don't like the pill myself, either.
Don't feel bad about the choice you've made. Like other ladies have said, you're doing the right thing for you and DD. A year after my now two year old was born, I found myself pregnant again. I was fully prepared to abort, but as it turns out the fetus had stopped developing and I got a D&C insted.
