should I change dr's or can I keep him away!!

long story short I just bolted from an abusive marriage. he knows which dr and hospital I will go to when i have the baby. Can he call to get any details of the appointments or show up for the birth?? I really need him and his psycho mother to stay away. so far hes made this pregnancy absolute HELL with his stress, abuse and cheating . i want the rest of this drama free and a good memory..

It might depend on the hospital. I tried to tell the doctors and front desk at my hospital not to let my mother in if she showed up and they said they either let everyone in or no one at all.

You can switch their is nothing he can do to get your information it's patient dr. confidentiality... if anything when switching doctors tell them about your situation and im sure they will understand...

Have you thought of trying to file a restraining order? Did you ever get records or keep proof of abuse(pics or police reports)?

At my hospital I was able to block certain individuals from visiting, as they would call to see if I wanted them to come back. But phone calls were not screened. If was all or none.

You can tell the nurses not to let them in and i'm pretty sure a doctor can't give any information away unless you've said they can.

theres record of a tpo i HAD on him.. theres record of him being arrested twice for violating it. theres also dv police recs. He hasnt been "proven guilty yet" but if there is a GOD he will do some time.instead of a top notch lawyer getting him out of it. so yeah i have a little proof..

I would file a restraining order first.
Unless you have approved him to get any of your medical information there is no way he would be able to find out about your appointments. And he really has no way of knowing when you deliver unless some one tells him when ever it happens. You can inform your hospital that you do not want him to be allowed in the room also.

My own mother cant get any of my doctor information

if the father is listed on the BC as the father.. and custody wasnt established.. he has legal custody.. which he can get appt info and everything.. if you change drs and he shows the bc that he is the father,.. he can get info.. unless you give them documents that your the legal parent.. and most judges even if you get primary custody will likely award joint legal custody
