posted 24th Nov
I was diagnosed with puppp! It's really bad and it itches so bad it's all I my back stomach and chest! The doctor gave me an oral steroid pack and told me to take bendryl but I'm afraid of taking this medication in fear of the effects it may have on my baby boy! Does anyone else have any over the counter remedies? Please I am suffering and need some help it hurts so bad!

Wash with pine tar soap

Cold clothes are helpful

Take the Benadryl, its not gonna hurt. Woman take it all the time to sleep, even while pregnant. I'd look for an anti itch lotion.

Taking Benadryl is fine. I had it BAD and taking that was the only way I could get any sleep. And DS is perfectly fine.

Nothing helped me except a cool washcloth and calamine lotion.
I tried all of the creams, the soaps, benadryl, everything, and nothing worked except calamine.

I read it crosses the placenta! I am on a lot of Meds already so I'm just scared to take anything else that might hurt him! But thanks

I never heard of it either but it's a rash that forms during pregnancy it starts around the stretch marks and can spread all over your body! It's little red pimple looking things that itch and it can get very horrific! My back is covered in red bumps and my sides butt and stomach! It itches do bad I want to peel my skin off my body! The doctor said it goes away after delivery and it does not cause any harm to the baby but I will be very uncomfortable! The only remedy he said is delivery! I read online that in 70% of women diagnosed are carrying boys so there may be a link to the male DNA effecting the mother and causing the rash! I wouldn't wish this in anyone

nothing helped me. i was just miserable the last 2.5 months. hoping i don't get it again this time! my high risk dr also explained it happened more to women having boys because it's basically your body having an allergic reaction to the testosterone.

I read it usually begins during the third trimester but I started to notice little bumps around 12 weeks but it just all if a sudden last week became crazy so I ask my doctor and he diagnosed me with it! Man I'm hurting and itching! I just want to scratch my skin off my body!
