Omg, you labored for that long! Jeeze - no thank you! I am contemplating being induced so my parents can be here, which I normally wouldn't do, but my dad is very handicapped, so if he is going to make the journey, there WILL be a baby born while he is here, lol. I didn't even realize I was in labor with my son and I got to the hospital at 8cm dilated....then sat there for a really long time. He finally came out, but it started to look like I was going to have to have an emergency c-section. Thats another reason I am considering induction, I had no idea I was in labor.

Wow!! I was always scared I'd be in labor and not know it. I was induced because of high blood pressure. They inserted a cytotec pill at 10:30PM Tuesday night and she was born at 2:19AM on Thursday morning! So yes, it was a verrrry long, drawn out process. But I didn't start contracting until about 4-5 hours after the pill was first placed and I got my epidural at 9AM Wednesday morning so I was in no pain until baby was ready to come out and WHILE she was coming out! It was a boring process for sure but not too bad

At least you didn't feel anything! I am totally getting an epidural this time. I went natural last time (not on purpose) and no....not again.

I don't blame you!!! I wanted to go as long as I could during labor without getting the epidural even though I did want it. I have no idea why I thought that would be a good idea... If I was going to ease my pain at some point, why push myself to the limit before giving myself relief?! I have no idea. I ended up getting it sooner because they were inserting a foley bulb into my cervix and it would have been pretty painful without the epi. I am very thankful that I got it early on!! I know lots of people don't want to be induced.. It didn't really bother me, honestly, because I was sick of being pregnant and was so ready for my baby to be born. But I was actually just googling cytotec and read things saying that it is totally unsafe for induction. Kind of makes me look back and think that I didn't really know 100% what was going on and wish I would have. Next time maybe I will do things differently!

It's crazy how quickly things like medications change. Did you have an OB or a midwife? I had a midwife and while I liked the OB that was there, I feel like my midwife really advocated what *I* wanted and made sure I knew what was happening. I'm so happy that the new place I am going to has two midwives on staff, so hopefully I will have just as good of an experience this time around.

My OB doctor was supposed to deliver my daughter, but she wasn't there and someone else ended up delivering her. I am pretty sure she was a doctor, but now that you ask me that... I honestly don't even know. I really liked the woman though. I was in the hospital at 34 weeks for bleeding and I met her during that time while she was caring for me, and I was happy that she was the one that delivered Emma because she was very nice to me! I had a very good experience, all the doctors and nurses that helped me were all so awesome and considerate. But there are some things that I look back at and I'm like, wtf? Apparently my daughter's cord was around her neck and I didn't even know about it until way later on down the road when my mom told me (because she was in the room) and apparently I was bleeding a little more than I should have after delivery and it took a little longer than expected to get it to stop.. I was fine, but now I wonder why the hell was I bleeding like that?! Of course in the moment I really wasn't even concerned because my daughter had just been born and overall I was fine lol

I just went back and read that and I sounded retarded talking about doctors/midwives but I'm sure you will catch my drift lol I actually did the majority of my pushing with only the nurse in the room!

No, you totally made sense. (At least....I understood  ) I had like 4 or 5 people in there - including my ex, who was useless cause he cried the entire time and then as soon as my son was out, he walked out of the room and was like "That was so intense" to my sister and went outside to smoke.

I love how we are blowing this post up haha but wtf! I'm not with my child's father so my mom was the only person in the room besides the doctors and nurses. She almost smurf her pants/passed out while I was practice pushing and had to go to the bathroom and then eat some crackers and lay down LOL she got back up and helped me while I pushed the rest of the time though.

*Aubrey. I'm not a fan of it as it's masculine and misspelled. Audra or Audrey would be better.
