Hips not wide enough?

posted 24th Nov
As I get closer to dd, people keep asking me if they are going to let me birth naturally because of my small frame. It starts to really worry me because I would prefer to give birth naturally, but I worry my baby won't be able to fit. Even my doctor told me I had narrow hips.   Another woman told me my doctor was "setting me up to fail" that he was already planning for me to have a c-section.

I'm have pretty narrow hips and I delivered vaginally. My hips didn't break, I didn't tear, and she was out in 10 minutes haha. Your doctor can't force you to get a c-section. If you don't want one, don't get one.

Don't listen to them! I know loads of small women with small frames who gave birth to babies naturally!
My mom is like 5 foot with a tiny frame and gave birth to me naturally, I was 7lbs!

if your dr was concerned they would have already talked to you about a c section. i weighed 88 pounds and i was 16 years old when i had my son. i wore a size 00. i birthed him naturally with no issues regarding my hips. a friend of mine who was a good bit bigger than me at the time (size 12ish) had to have forceps used for her birth.

It's good to hear that I have a good chance of delivering naturally. One guy even told me I didn't have "super model hips" I know I don't but still my pregnant sensitivity took offense to that one.

I'm 5'4" and 115 lb soaking wet, gave birth to two babies vaginally. My mom was even smaller than me, had 4 babies NATURALLY, including me (her biggest) at 10 lb
Have faith in yourself and your body. You were made to birth that baby.

Thank you so much! I do need more faith in myself. I'm sure all will go as well as labor can.

I'm 5'1 and pretty tiny (Only a size 2 now and I'm delivering monday lol!) My doctor wasn't concerned about it. She said "we'll see if we end up having to do a C-section" but she's going to let me go ahead and try, so I'm guessing it happens all the time and there's no way to tell until the time actually comes. I wouldn't worry about it honey.

Wow a size 2! If that happened to me I'd still be wearing my jeans and not size 8 stretchy pants. I was 110 lbs at the beginning and I just hit 150 thanks to the great thanksgiving cooking I've been devouring. lol
