Babies sleep schedule..(kinda long)

posted 24th Nov
I feel like Im making posts every other day now that I have a newborn...ugh. Anyway...I dont think my newborns sleep schedule is normal. This is her sleep schedule from yesterday/lastnight/today .....woke up at 8am yesterday....awake until 1pm...fell asleep 1pm-6pm (and WOULD NOT wake up so i could nurse her).....went back to sleep 10pm-2am...woke up and was awake and nursing for 8 straight hours until 10am.....slept 10am-2pm...awake and nursing since 2pm today.......When shes asleep, it is practically IMPOSSIBLE to wake her up...tickling her, changing her, bathing her....nothing wakes her up. And when shes awake, if shes not nursing, shes SCREAMING. Her doctor told me nurse her ATLEAST every 3 hours...but she wont wake up to nurse. Even when shes nursing, she'll fall asleep after 5 min...ill put her down and shes back up within 5 minutes. I guess I just need some advice...I dont understand how a newborn baby can stay awake for 8 hours. When shes not nursing, could she be screaming because shes so overly tired? I just dont know what to do. ANY advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks

Awake for 8 hours in a row?.....everything that Ive read says a baby should be awake 8 hrs out of the entire 24hrs.

Seriously, ignore everything you have read. Babies don't read the manual. They don't know the rules  .

Sounds normal to me. How are babies supposed to know they should be on a schedule? I never put my kid on a schedule though. He nursed when he wanted and slept when he wanted.

Every baby is different. You'd be surprised.

My son as a newborn would stay awake literally all night, then sleep like he was in a coma all day. lmao.

Ignore when they tell you that you HAVE to nurse every three hours or your baby will explode. You baby will eat when hungry. DD slept for 12 hours at a time when she was a newborn, and wouldn't wake up to nurse. She didn't starve.
