Questions for all moms

posted 24th Nov
I have a 5 almost 6 month old baby boy who was on similac sensitive since he was born. He started spitting up more than usual so the pediatrician told us to switch to similac for spit up. So we did that and my son was spitting up alot more and more chuncky.. So then we decided to swtich to similac advance (not sure if that was the best idea). well now he spits up so much. Today alone he probably spit up about 6-8 times.. It doesnt always have to be right after he eats either.. My gut is telling me that he is allergic to it.. I am not sure what to do at this point. I need advice from other mommies. Please help.....

if he isn't keeping anything down, i'd take him in right now before he gets dehydrated.

he did when he was a baby.. He was in the nicu when he was born due to a fever from me having one.. They had to keep him longer than expected cause he couldnt keep down the formula. So then they switched him to similac sensitive. A few days later he went home. The dr diagnosted him with reflux.. So we did the whole sit up for an hour after he ate and so on.. He seems to have grown out of it.. But I just dont know what to do now with this whole formula issue.. Also he cannot tollerate the powdered formulas so we have to keep him on the pre mixed ones. Thats an issue as well if have to change to a different brand of food. My dr will prob say hes fine but my gut is saying something else is going on. I am thinking allergies..

I'm thinking he's still having reflux issues. If he was allergic he would likely have hives or swell up.

He doesnt spit it all up.. he does get some of it. he doesnt have diarrhea so thats a good thing. My issue is if he has allergies..

We always just switched. If one was causing DD belly pains and vomiting, we would find a different formula. Lol I'm not sure exactly how you switch dog food? Half and half?

Hahah!! I never knew to do that with dogs!! Duly noted!

I can't remember who produced the formula.. This was 5+ years ago :/ I just remember it being called Isomil and I believe it came in a pink/red can
