?'s about 8.5 mo old eating habits

posted 24th Nov
Booga will be 9 months on the 9th. I am a little concerned about how much he's eating. He will sometimes only eat 2 or 3 bites of baby food a day. He still drinks regular formula bottles, but I'm worried he's not getting enough. He weighs around 25 pounds and looks healthy, but I would be starving if I only ate as much as he does. What was your baby eating at that age and how often?

TIA

Basil is 9 months old, weighs 24 lbs, and is in the 99th percentile for his weight.

He rarely eats anything but formula and breastmilk.

I think his chunky butt is getting plenty to eat!

Lol. My DS is 8.5 months old also, is 19lbs 6oz, and eats 3 meals of solids a day and nurses a bunch. Your baby might just like the formula more.

Babies don't even need food until 1 year. My little boy is tiny and eats sooo much. Like 3 toddler size meals a day and 18-24 ounces of formula. He is 11 months and only 18 lbs. If your baby is drinking formula and not losing weight don't worry. He probably just likes it better. Around 9 months my son refused to be spoon fed and feeds himself. Have you tried little pieces of adult food?

Kalea is 8 months. She weighs 16lbs. She nurses on demand and eats a few bites from baby food jars twice a day.

I'm no help because at 8 months DS had 8 teeth and 4 molars, he was eating 3 meals a day. Real fruits and veggies just steamed. He also had three 6oz bottles of formula a day. But maybe your LO just likes formula better. If lo isn't losing weight I wouldn't be concerned just yet.

We've given him little pieces of almost everything we eat and he makes a funny face and spits it out. The only things he really likes is sweet stuff and drinking out of big cups....lol. He literally fights me everytime I put him in his high chair to feed him.
