Still need a baby name I 100% love!

posted 24th Nov
My first daughter is Sophie-Alyssa, 2 names I loved since I was in school so that was easy. Then I heard Ebony when I was pregnant the first time and thought I love that if i ever had another girl.
Baby girl 2 is on the way but so many people have put me off saying u cant have that name if you're not black! I like Lila as well but not completely sure anymore. Want something colour or nature related and unusual, help?

Not sure how Ebony is a "black" name--other than its meaning.

I definitely think it would be odd to see on a white child. It means black, I've only heard it on black girls, it's the name of a prominent black magazine, half of the title of Ebony and Ivory, a song about racial harmony, lol.

I know of a few girls called Ebony in my extended social circle all of whom are white, and the little girl I saw with that name the first time I heard it was white as well.
BUT what that person said up there is typical of what I've come up against and that is what has taken the shine off the name for me :/

What about using it as a middle name?

That would be a n idea but if I don't call her Ebony she's gonna be Lila Mai I don't reckon Ebony goes as a middle name with Lila
