Late period with little to no hope.

I had sex once this month due to my knee surgery. It was around the time of ovulation but I hadn't taken clomid Bc I knew we wouldn't be trying very hard. So Thanksgiving was day 28. No period. Yesterday, no period and negative test. Today, no period. Why, of all months, would my period be late (Ive been regular with some early spotting since getting off birth control), when I KNOW there's almost a 0% chance I'm pregnant? Its like my body is just playing a cruel joke. And knowing I'm probably not and just waiting for my period is SUCH a let down. Everyday, I'm thinking, "That's one more day I have to wait to try in month 8."
On the plus side, usually when I post something here, my body makes up for it. That means my period should start within 30 minutes of this post. As a matter of fact, I'm feeling crampy.

We only had sex once this month too somehow.... we've been so busy and exhausted. It was THE DAY I ovulated but I don't have a good feeling about it. My period is due the 27th though so I guess we'll see. Good luck... it certainly could happen!
