what to expect

posted 24th Nov
When being induced? I've gone from super excited to a nervous wreck. I've never been induced before and this Tuesday will be my first time. Maybe if you ladies share some experiences or tell me what to expect I'll feel a bit better.

i was partically induced due to DD pooping. but it hurt like hell until i got the epi. it took 6hrs total actual labour time, 31mins of pushing & she came (: i loved how fast it went. & since i slept most of the time due to being sick from morphene (i don't recomend it at all lol) it seemed like it wasn't even that long haha

I was induced with my two older ones so don't know what "natural" labor feels like. My oldest sister experienced both and said that being induced is 2x more painful, and from what I experienced, I totally believe her.

When I was induced, they hooked me up to an IV with pitocin to start contractions and labor. Fair warning- these contractions are HARD and painful. I ended up getting an epidural with both of them so I could concentrate on the pushing and not the pain. I had my first child in 8 hrs and my 2nd in 4 hours. If you're admitted the night before they induce, they'll probably give you some sleep medication (like Ambien) so you get plenty of rest before the big day.

Good luck- you'll do great!
